What Do I Do When My Child Lies?

It is a simple question. Yet the answer to this does not always satisfy us. We are faced with a problem and if we are the worrying sort, we see it an issue. Hang on! There is no need to worry. A does listen, so pay attention.

Address it as quickly as it is spotted. Recognise that our presence goes beyond the physical. Not to raise our expectations so high lest we be disappointed if they truly cannot perform. Forgive quickly, yourself and then the child. That is what makes a great. Because of our willingness to take on responsibility that the child is not ready to bear.

Do not ignore, scold or blame yourself.

There are some helpful responses from parents:

  1. difficult not to be angry
  2. work with the teacher
  3. do not judge the child immediately
  4. intervene
